Play’n GO Invites You to Step Into Its New Sushi Restaurant Slot — Slashimi

May 2, 2023 Artyom Ustinov
If you are a fan of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes but also like to spin the reels, we have some good news. Play’n GO has recently released a new sushi restaurant-themed slot game — Slashimi. Aside from awarding free spins and giving you a chance to win the maximum prize of 5,000x your bet, the developer introduces the main course of this game — the Two-for-One feature.
The game has a cartoonish style accompanied by relaxing, ambient music softly playing in the background. Set in Chef Jiro Miike’s famous restaurant, the game is played on the 5x3 grid complemented with 125 paylines (with a potential to increase to 1,000) and an RTP of 96.20%. As you might imagine, the symbols are mouth-watering sushi bites — card symbols are the low-paying ones, while 4 different Nigiri pieces are the high-paying ones. A soy bottle is a wild icon that substitutes for all symbols except scatter and pays 1x for landing three-of-a-kind. There is also a scatter (wasabi drops) which grants free spins if three or more appear.
Regarding extra features that can bring high payouts, Slashimi boasts free spins and Two-for-One symbols. Two-for-One is the crucial mechanic of this slot, in which the chef randomly selects a symbol (any regular one except a wild or scatter) before each spin. If that icon hits the reels during the spin, he will slice it into two. Then, every symbol that matches the chef’s will also split into two upon touching the reels, potentially increasing the winning ways from 125 to a maximum of 1,000. As mentioned, if you land 3 scatters, you’ll receive 4 free spins. If additional scatters appear during free spins, you’ll be awarded additional FS. Another fun option is that you get to choose a Two-for-One symbol before the FS round begins. Aside from splitting into two, this icon (and all the matching ones) will stick to the reels for the duration of the FS mode. You can win up to 25 FS and 5,000x your stake. George Olekszy, who runs Play'n GO's game retention department, said that Slashimi's Two-For-One symbols are the real stars of the game. Although the company has several food-themed slot games in its portfolio, it decided to treat its loyal fans with another one featuring the innovative splitting symbol mechanic. Olekszy added that the game is great for new players due to its easy-to-understand gameplay, but since it also contains a lot of depth, they are confident it will also appeal to veteran players.
