Play’n GO Releases Another Instalment of Their Merlin Slot Series — Merlin: Journey of Flame

A week after unveiling Fox Mayhem, Play’n GO returns with the fifth instalment of the popular Merlin saga — Merlin: Journey of Flame.
Interestingly, this video slot acts not as a sequel but as a prequel to the previously released titles Rise of Merlin (2019) and Merlin and the Ice Queen Morgana (2021). The game follows the adventures of a younger Merlin as he discovers a rare Dragon Egg in a swampy lake. Regarding gameplay, fans can notice similarities to another Play’n GO title — Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead (2016) — thanks to the Expanding Symbols mechanics. Additionally, this game strongly resembles the developer’s 2021 release, Scroll of Dead, in terms of its features.
Once you load the game, you’ll come across a 5x3 grid and a locked 6th reel on the utmost right, active only in the bonus round. The game also features 10 paylines and has an RTP of 96.28%. Unlike the regular symbols appearing on the first 5 reels that pay up to 500x the bet, those in the 6th award up to 750x. Regarding features, Merlin: Journey of Flame has only two — free spins and a gamble feature. However, the latter is not available in all jurisdictions. If you help Merlin gather at least 3 Dragon Egg Wild Scatter symbols, you’ll receive 8 free spins and a payout up to 200x in the base game.
