Playson Will Crown You in Glory in Their Latest Slot Game — Royal Joker: Hold and Win

Playson, a renowned software vendor in the iGaming industry, has launched a new game — Royal Joker: Hold and Win. Slot enthusiasts and Playson admirers will know this is a continuation of the Royal series (Royal Coins and Royal Coins 2). At first glance, the game looks simple, but don’t let appearances fool you since it contains a hefty bonus that can award up to 20,000x your stake.
The game oozes a retro feel in its graphics and gameplay. It is set across a 3x3 grid packed with classic fruit symbols. Although there are only 5 active paylines, the game contains exciting features, such as growing multipliers and re-spins, that will elevate your gaming experience. Aside from the fruit symbols, there is a wild (Joker) that substitutes all the icons except the bonus and royal bonus during the base game, while it adds multipliers in the bonus round (30x – 50x your bet) for landing three-of-a-kind.
As for features, Royal Joker: Hold and Win has four — Hold and Win re-spins, Joker multipliers, Royal bonus, and Pile of Gold. The bonus symbol is a coin with a value of up to 15x and can appear on reels 1 and 3, while the royal bonus (a coin with a crown) only appears on reel 2. A random appearance of the bonus symbol during the bonus game can trigger one of the following jackpots — mini (25x), minor (50x), major (150x), or grand (1,000x). Hitting three bonus or royal bonus symbols will activate the bonus round, which is a Hold and Win re-spins feature. Additionally, the royal bonus remains sticky throughout the round. The bonus round begins with three spins, during which only bonus symbols, royal bonus symbols, or Jokers can appear. If a wild shows up, it will add a 2x multiplier, and every extra Joker will increase the multiplier by 1x. On the flip side, if a bonus hits a multiplier cell, its value will be multiplied by the current multiplier before being collected by the royal bonus symbol. Landing a bonus or royal bonus in the base game can trigger the Pile of Gold feature. Its activation will add enough feature-triggering symbols to activate the bonus game and possibly award 2x multipliers. Playson's CCO Tamas Kusztos said Royal Joker: Hold and Win was an exhilarating game they expected to deliver great engagement thanks to its new features and existing mechanics that players would love. Natalia Shkarbanova, Playson’s product owner, stated that Joker's multiplier feature would likely appeal to players of the Royal series. She was content that the game demonstrated the company’s ability to adapt a classic theme to offer contemporary variations.
